Just a horrid little tale for Haloween! =^^=
Pic done in 30 min, looks it, though
Tasha wound her way home in the fading evening hours. Normally she did not like to travel alone, but her husbands work prevented him from attending the convention with her. Road construction in the city prevented her from taking the route out she desired and forced her onto some back roads, out of the way, but in the direction she wished to travel.
The light of a full moon lit her way beneath a leafy canopy of trees, silvery light gave the whole road a surrealistic appearance. Thus far she drove the road alone. Only one other car had accompanied her, but for some strange reason the truck sped up and passed her. The red tail lights receded in to the distance like a pair of watching eyes.
The predator had to act quickly, a nice tasty sheep away from the herd was a rare treat indeed! He set the trap and waited for his prey.
Tasha thought she saw a glimmer in the roadway, but ignored it thinking it was maybe just the moon playing off the asphalt. A slight thump shook the car as she passed the spot.
The wolf grinned toothily from ear to ear. He heard a pop and a faint hiss as the car drove on. Sheep would be served soon! The moonlight lit his way as he began to stalk his injured prey. He kept his headlights off and followed the taillights in front of him.
Tasha felt something was wrong. She heard a hissing coming from in front of her. Her car started to handle strangely, pulling to the left. Suddenly the sidewall gave out and the steering wheel jerked violently in Tashas hands. She kept her cool and backed off the accelerator allowing the drag from her flopping tire to slow the car down. Quickly the car lost speed as it limped to a halt, she pulled off the side of the road. Trembling at the suddenness of her disaster.
The wolf saw the lights in front of him waver. The car in front of him slowed rapidly. He hit is brakes and pulled off to the side, the final stalk could now begin! Anticipation roiled within him, but hunters instinct took over and he exited his vehicle to silently melt into the woods.
Tasha took a few calming breaths and flicked the hazards on. This wasnt good. She exited her car and looked at the ruin of her front tire, hopelessly flat and crumpled in the moonlight. She could see nobody on the road in either direction. The only light came from the full moon. At least she could see well enough to maneuver. While she decided what to do next, a rustle from the trees startled her. A figure rose from the darkness of the treeline.
He approached her sidling towards the rear of the car, trying to appear friendly. Good evening maam, having a little trouble?
N-nothing too special, just a flat tire...
He peered around the rear of the car past her to the front. Really? Well, lets have a look. Yep, that does look ugly.
lease let me give you a hand
Before she could react, he stepped around the corner of her car. A blade flashed into his hand and a deft movement punctured her rear tire.
Tasha flashed into her car slamming the door behind her.
Awww, cmon little sheep its so much better when they run!
He opened the drivers door
Run sheep, RU ... Uh, oh!
He found himself staring down the wrong end of a stainless steel .357 magnum snub-nose revolver, clutched close to Tashas chest. The pistol spoke its ire twice sending him sprawling back into the middle of the road. Too late he realized his mistake. A small sticker in the rear window proclaimed: NRA.
But, ... sheep are supposed to be, ... sheep. Im a wolf...
