Story:

Night settled over the desert. The change from blazing heat to frosty chill always amazed Roth. A brilliant moon shone down over the land bathing everything in its silver glow. The camp fire slowly smouldered away into ashes. Roth knew he had to feed it soon before it went out, but he wanted to appreciate the sky without the distraction of the dancing flames.

Roth stood up and looked into the night sky and saw a star.

No, not a star, The Star. Despite incredible distances, the light still shone from, ... home.

A soft night breeze shifted the desert sands about him, and a wave of comfort seemed to wash over his shoulders. He drew and let out a long breath.

They were not forgotten, although they might be impossibly far from home, He knew where they were, each and every one of them, and He cared.

Roth fell to his knees and offered up a silent prayer of thanksgiving.
