I HATE Goatheads

Been a while since I uploaded something I drew. Frankly this picture embarrasses me But I'm sick of looking at it in my "to do" pile.

Anyone that lives out in the midwest can tell you of the joy of the Goathead weed, or Puncture Vine as it is also called. The seeds are incredibly hard and sharp. Off road cyclists and hikers are advised to line anything that touches the ground with kevlar!

On Carmen's homeworld, plants were imported to help with the terraforming, including a variety of desert ground cover. Something in the soil of that world made the seeds of this plant grow extra long and sharp...

The story:

Carmen and Vance have completed their first big project together: For Carmen's 16th bitrhday, Vance got her a Jeep, some assembly required. It took months of hard work, but they got it running and into shape to enjoy the pleasure of off road driving!

On the way back, they decided to have a race back to the hideout. Carmen's jeep versus Vance's sedan. On the way out Vance had warned Carmen about not taking a shortcut through Goathead Valley. With Vance in the lead, Carmen decided to take the shortcut anyways. The good news is that she is still in the lead, the bad news...
